The first time I ever encountered this infinity pool was in 2003, when the Westin Grand was still called the Arabella Sheraton, after a long night of drinking at the Long Street Festival. A friend and I accompanied guests who were staying at the hotel back to their rooms for champagne, they snuck us into the pool area and I was completely gobsmacked. Breathtaking views of the city, an infinity pool as calm and reflective as a plane of glass – and to top things off… when one dips one’s ears under the water, one hears soothing music. Shewow.

Lyndall had just received her title as FHM’s sexiest SA Woman for 2009 and Pasella wanted to shoot her in swimwear to celebrate this. I felt very privileged to have worked with her, despite being given only 20 minutes for hair and make-up (including liquid liner and false lashes.)
