Asara

These beautiful images were taken by Robert Miller for Asara Wine Estate & Hotel.

Arctic Circle, who are currently managing Asara’s brand strategy, approached Miller and together they developed  concepts, themes and colour palettes that represent the Asara and the luxuries within.

This shoot was done using exclusively MAC makeup and Loreal hair products an a ghd styler. I kept the makeup to a neutral colour palette, blotting off lipstick and contouring her eyes and face with subdued gentle tones. I used a ghd to create pin-curls which I left in for the duration of the makeup application before releasing the clips.

Constantia Uitsig Wedding

A few Saturday’s ago I was employed by the Cape Town School of Photography to do the hair and make-up for a wedding workshop they were organizing with Mark Kalkwarf. Nick Coyne was amongst the photographers attending the class and was sweet enough to forward these images to me.

The mock wedding took place at Constantia Uitsig and the models were from Trigger. All of these photographs were taken by Nick Coyne in 2010.

Make-Up: Main Make-up Ingredients: MAC: Apply Strobe Cream — to give the skin radiance, the buff Studio Fix Fluid -( in my experience it’s the longest wearing of MAC’s foundations which makes it ideal for brides) into the skin with a stippling brush (I like the #187). Apply “Shroom” to the inner corners of the eye, vanilla” under the brow bone, “Cork” and “bronze” to the crease, “All that glitters” to the ball of the eye and “graphblack” technakohl liner along the lashline with an angle brush. Fuzz the liner with a #219 pencil brush along the edge of the eye and into the outer edges of the crease. Gently exaggerate the line of the eye with “blacktrack” fluidline. An additional post of the Robert Miller/ Chelsea L fresh faced bridal look. I sculpted her face with  texture rather than lines.
