FHM’s 89th Sexiest Woman in the World

FHM South Africa came out with their 100 sexiest women in the world list earlier this year…. and much to my shock and disbelief I was on it!!
Thank you to Rio for bringing me a copy of the magazine, all the way from South Africa so that I could scan in the above photograph as well as the whole page:
Yep – I beat Ke$ha, Selena Gomez, Britney (99 – she barely made it this year), Kim Kardashian, Eva Longaria and a coupe of people I’ve never heard of. I had never entered a beauty pageant before or any sort of competition like this – but thanks to a series of online votes from the interwebs at large I was honoured with an official sexy stamp which I find puzzling, amazing, delightful and with a history of childhood bullying and low self esteem, a tad bizarre.

Hands up mother stickers, this is a f*&k up!

Sometimes bad things happen to good people – like an uninsured 15″ Macbook pro being stolen from beneath my table at a restaurant while I ate,
followed by a “smash and grab” uninsured iPhone 4 being stolen from my car a week later
followed by my most prized possession - my Nikon DSLR falling from my neck (the strap came undone) lens first onto the floor the day that I landed in London…
followed by a fox sneaking into my home via the catflap, eating all of my leather shoes and bags – including the black Jimmy Choo “goes with everything” only grown up handbag I posses and gnawing and chewing up most of my bra straps before dragging a bag of cat food around the living room, sprinkling kibbles like confetti.

Princess Jacalini has her Valentine – Do you?

Happy Valentines Day Kittens. To those of you who are in love, searching for love, recovering from love or indulging in self love I wish you nothing but joy and satisfaction for the next 24 hours. Smile at strangers, buy flowers for someone who needs them, plant a tree, pick up someone else’s trash, treat yourself to something spectacular and give yourself the license to dream: enter Princess Jacalini’s NoMU competition.
The poster is currently on view at 2 locations in South Africa: Service Station in Melville, Johannesburg and at Club Engen on Orange St. in Gardens, Cape Town.

Rammstein

Rammstein performed in Cape Town at Grand West Casino last night. I was there to do the bands makeup for an interview scheduled to take place before the show. Tragically the band “forgot” two of their members behind on their journey to the venue and the escalated time pressure meant that they were forced to cancel the interview and crush my dream of meeting and working with the band.
As a consolation prize, event organizer Gwen gave us golden circle tickets and gave me the opportunity to whip out my camera during one of their songs.
The concert itself was amazing and I am amazed at the energy the band gave the audience. Unfortunately there was no one selling ear plugs and my MacGuyver attempts at fashioning my contact into makeshift earplugs did not work so well:

December’s NoMU poster is up at the Engine on Orange Street and this month is featuring the very beautiful Beatnik Bazaar and her son Luca!
