Boudoir Shoot with Noel Tosefsky – Round 1

I’ve been slacking off on blogging shoots – and although many of you probably “like” my facebook page ~ thank you for the support – I’m really honored ~ and have probably seen many of the images I’ll be posting over the next few weeks, I think that a lot of the images on the page deserve a place on the site. I can honestly say I have learnt something with every shoot I have done, and I am so grateful for the wonderful people I have been privileged to work with.

This shoot was Neal’s first boudoir shoot. I met Neal through Robyn early 2010 and through twitter and the #27dinners we became friends.

Neal enjoys taking photographs, and I enjoy being in photographs so he decided to bring me on board to tackle his first boudoir shoot and first shoot with someone there with… [ Read more ]

Happy Birthday to Me!

The 22nd January (this Saturday) is my Birthday so I have decided to indulge in fantasy and compile a wishlist.

1) The coffee machine that does everything. The Jura Impressa X9 Platinum offers over 20 programmable preferences, grinders, internet connectivity (though for what they are not clear) and a separate frother (more cappuccino foam please.) Post dinner party cappuccinos/lattes/espressos would be wonderful.

2) A subscription to British Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Vanity Fair, ID, LOVE, POP or Wallpaper Magazine.

Vogue looks great on the iPad, but I still find myself buying British Vogue from Exclusive Books every month. I hope to have a collection of the trends, styles, photographers and campaigns to pass along to someone someday. Fashion re-invents itself and it is wonderful to look back from time to time and see where we have been.

3) Tiaras and[ Read more ]

Belinda Spratt – Mobile Massage

Belinda Spratt is Lady Kaye’s personal masseuse. Lady Kaye made this decision after her very first massage with Belinda Spratt.

My first massage with Belinda Spratt was earlier this year before my holiday in Mauritius. She put their Givenchy Spa (rated one of the best) to shame. Though my massage with Belinda was intially a blend of ecstasy and agony I knew  that she had given me an understanding of what massage is supposed to be.

For me massage is all about releasing tension. Tension caused from hunching over a computer, from physical exercise, or simply from stress. Until we book ourselves in for a massage, we seldom acknowledge the extent of the stress we carry in our muscles. Belinda is honestly the first masseuse to have tackled my tension full-on. She has amazing pressure which remains consistent throughout all 90minutes of the massage, and responds well to… [ Read more ]

Lady Kaye’s List of Holiday Essentials

What holiday blog post would be complete without a list of the essential things one requires on an Island Holiday. Here are 10 things that you ought to make sure go into your suitcase and 10 of the most useful beauty products to pack.

1) Bikinis

If there’s only one thing you remember let it be your bikinis (or your boardies if you’re a boy). Pack more than one as a) there is nothing more boring than wearing the same tired bikini uniform day after day, b) Biknis get wet and c) alternating bikinis alternates tan lines (I packed 4 and would have packed more if my online purchases were more organised) and be sure to splurge on something pretty that makes you feel glamorous and sophisticated. Check online to see if your bikini has matching accessories (scarves and throw-over dresses) as it makes beach chic delightfully effortless.

Pictures of Paradise

IMG_1452

As most of you know, I have just returned from my vacation at Le Touessrok Resort aka paradise.

I have been agonising over what first to blog about, I’ve had requests for lists of products I take on vacation, what I pack into my suitcase, but mostly you guys have asked me for pretty pictures. I am not a photographer, and took these shots with a little canon powershot given to me by the lovely Robert Miller instead of my SLR, but I think they serve the purpose of illustrating some of my favorite things about the resort. Check out the Le Touessrok Resort site to look at more photos and to look at the golf course and other manly things that fail to interest Lady Kaye.

Before you look, try to remember that however lovely it may look in photographs, it is infinitely more impressive in… [ Read more ]

From Mauritius with Love

Hello Darlings,

As many of you know I reside in the lovely city of Cape Town – the same place that has been hosting the soccer world cup for the past few weeks. Many Cape Tonians have caught this “world cup fever” and have abandoned their normal disinterest in soccer, adorned football shirts, flagged mirror condoms on their cars and hosted or attended soccer themed parties whilst merrily blowing into their vuvuzelas with gay abandon.

I am not one of those people.

Immune to the “world cup fever” I have no shame in saying I STILL have no interest in soccer… and the thought of being in a room full of vuvuzelas scares me as much as being in a room full of screaming women and homosexuals at a Spring Versace/Louis Vuitton/Jimmy Choo fashion show (if South Africa would ever be so blessed as to host such a thing)… [ Read more ]
