“Steed Lord is a musical performance art project from Iceland working on the frontiers of pure creativity and music-making with impressive and energetic live performances, experimental filmmaking, photography, fashion design and styling, art direction, graphic design and other visual media.”
The dynamic threesome, Kali, Mega and Demo all grew up in the music and entertainment world in Iceland with access to their father’s music studio and an enthusiasm for musical play from a young age.
Drawing their raw inspiration from their Icelandic background, they have managed to create a world of their own that they call “New Crack City” where they create their art and write their music.

Counters are Productive and Progressive

Yesterday I witnessed the unveiling of four new counters in Edgars at the V&A Waterfront; Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, La Mer and Clinique.
First, I was treated to a lovely breakfast at the Table Bay hotel where I caught up with Leigh-Anne, Sibongile, Eloise and Jasna.
It was during this breakfast that the four brands told us about the research and development that each team is involved with and how they carried their findings and strategies into their new counter designs and interactive spaces.
Most women (and some men) are familiar with the well established brands keeping their cosmetics behind the counter, with a brand representative placed between the consumer and the products – a design which is frustrating for peak shopping times and for women who want to “play” with makeup and cosmetics and for women who wish to ask for help when they need it rather than… [ Read more ]
The 2010 (South African) Blog Awards

The 2010 Blog Awards have been something of a fascination for me. As a relatively new blogger, I must admit that prior to my hair and make-up “enhancing” on some of the local weblebrities I had no idea that something such as the South African Blog Awards existed. Once I became aware of the awards I found myself excited to be given the opportunity to discover new and interesting blogs and people whilst I discovered what it is that the South African blogging community deemed important and commendable on the interblogs.
I went in with open eyes and open ears, and tried my best to take part where I could.
