A few weeks ago I had a meeting with GHD who gave me a selection of their products to try. I warned them that freebies does not equate good reviews, and they told me that I didn’t have to write anything about anything unless I genuinely loved the products. I have tried the various products and these are the ones I love and that I think you will love:

GHD Creation Spray is a product I do not ever want to live without. If you want to create curls with your styler, do not even bother without this product in your quiver. It is the most effective product I have ever found for holding the curls created with a heat styler and contains a heat-activated protection ingredient derived from meadow foam seed oil, which penetrates the hair cortex and improves moisture over an extended time providing the hair with more elasticity and flexibility. Creation Spray is the only product I trust to prevent curls from dropping and protects the hair from UV rays and from drying out while it works. You can read more about it here.

GHD Miracle Mist is a leave in conditioner that provides a light mist of moisture without weighing the hair down. It prevents hair from going static and is fantastic for nourishing extremely dry hair on a daily basis. It contains a host of impressive active ingredients to moisturize and protect the hair and repair damage caused by heat styling.

GHD Thermal Protector is a MUST if you are using a heat styler. It contains meadow foam seed oil to help maintain moisture levels and elasticity during heat styling as well as many other ingredients to deflect heat from the cortex of the hair. It reduces static, increases shine and helps to hold your style in place over time. It offers an extra 50% protection against heat appliances – don’t believe me? Test for yourself: Spray the back of one of your hands with GHD Thermal Protector. Leave the other hand bare. Hold your hands next to one another and ask a friend to wave a hair-dryer over both of them. One will get painfully hot, the other will not. Remember that even if you are not using a GHD or curling tong you are still doing damage to your hair every time you use a hair-dryer without protection. GHD Thermal Protector comes in three varieties, one for fine and normal hair, one for dry and coarse hair, and one for weak and damaged (colour treated) hair.

GHD Obedience Cream is another stellar product. I love to use it before blow-drying someone’s hair, but if your hair suffers from frizz and static this product should be used before you attempt any kind of style. It offers protection against static, UVA rays and humidity and helps hold your style in place for longer. You can read more about it here.

GHD Maximise Mousse is a mousse that delivers a flexible but firm hold making it an extremely versatile styling product. It helps to protect against humidity and static and adds strength and shine to one’s hair. Most importantly it is not sticky and will not leave your hair feeling “crispy.” It contains a starch polymer to assist in “lifting” the hair allowing you to achieve the volume you desire. It is suitable for all hair types and boosts volume and movement to the hair.

Braid two sections of hair and wrap around the forehead to create an element of “intentional control”.
