Robert had a very interesting lighting setup for this shoot. He placed Polarization filters over his beauty box in order to block out “hot spots” and experiment withcross polarized lighting.

My First Bollywood Experience.

Atlantis, 6 degress Celcius, Ricoffee, frostbite, 2 square meters of shade, forty-something dancers, bikinis, limited sunblock, two toilets, chilli scrambled eggs, chilli curry lunch, bronze, shimmery fabrics, high heels in the sand, 12 hour days, 7am call time – an hour outside of Cape Town.

Seven girls managing hair and make-up, two fried GHD’s in the first thirty minutes, laughter, hunger, exhaustion, laughter trekking over sand dunes and sneaking photographs.

Main Make-Up ingredients: MAC lipglass “viva glam VI” and pigments in “tan” and “coco beach“, Eyeshadow : “bronze”, Eye Kohl: “smolder”

Ashley eats a florist.

Pro Tip: When dealing with something fiddly such as petals or feathers or individual lashes use tweezers to position the object in place, check the direction of the curve of the hair/petal and hold in place until secure. Using as little glue as possible cover the tip of the lash or petal and wait for the glue to become tacky before adhering it to the skin.
